Eleven categories will be awarded, one of them will be a people’s choice award and a special award given for the best Culinary track.
The award ceremony will take place on April 25th at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar hotel.
The Organization Committee will invite all the local restaurants to participate in this culinary celebration.
A Restaurant Guide will be published that will be the best guide for tourists and residents.
LOS CABOS, BCS, January 23. – On April 25th, 2018, for the first time, Los Cabos will give out awards for the best of its gastronomy. With the support of the Tourism Trust of Los Cabos (FITURCA), H. XII City Council of Los Cabos through the Municipal Directorate of Tourism, the Secretariat of Tourism of BCS, CANIRAC and the Hotel Association of Los Cabos, the project CULINARY AWARDS LOS CABOS will seek to strengthen the area as a gastronomic paradise on par with/or exceeding any other international destination.
In an effort to continue promoting Los Cabos by showing the strengths that distinguish it from other worldwide destinations, Tendencia El Arte de Viajar and PR Solutions combine their efforts in the organization of this event. This event will encourage the restaurant industry to achieve and maintain the highest standards of quality in food, customer service, and facilities.
Starting January 23rd, 2018, the call will be open for all restaurants located in Los Cabos to register to participate in the awards ceremony. The criteria to register, as well as registration forms themselves, are available on the event website (www.culinary-awards.com ). There will be no cost to the restaurants eligible for participating in this event.
The evaluation process will include first selecting a jury that will be composed of various personalities in the area that are recognized as culinary experts and foodies. The Jury will be responsible to determine the nominees and winner in each category. To guarantee the transparency of the process, the names of those on the Jury will be kept secret during the evaluation process. As well, to guarantee the validity of the results, an audit will be performed by the agency of Crowe Horwath Gossler. Once the ballots have been counted and the audit finalized they will deliver the sealed envelopes that contain the names of the winners.
There will be eleven categories receiving awards among which are: Restaurant of the Year; Chef of the Year; New Restaurant; Rising Chef; and also, Culinary Experience, which is a category in which the entire community can vote for their favorite restaurant on line. the Organizing Committee will deliver the special “Culinary Track” award that will recognize a person, event, or company that has been an exceptional contribution to gastronomy in Los Cabos.
The award ceremony, with a gala cocktail event, will take place on Wednesday, April 25th, at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar hotel. A statuette, designed by plastic artist Yandi Monardo, will be handed out to each winner.
The publication of a Restaurant Guide will position itself as the main consultation tool for tourists and residents., It is estimated a first print run of 15 thousand copies. It will be distributed to hotels, residences, and condominiums in the area. There will also be a digital version available on the Culinary Awards Los Cabos page.
