A special award was given to Sabor a Cabo A.C. in culinary achievement for its contribution to the promotion of gastronomy in Los Cabos.
Los Cabos, B.C.S.- On April 25th the Culinary Awards were presented for the first time. The event was recognition of the best in gastronomy in Los Cabos. International celebrities such as chefs Richard Sandoval, Thierry Blouet, and Javier Plascencia were present. Also in attendance were businessmen representing the hospitality industry, all the nominees and people from the local media. Everyone gathered at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar hotel to meet the winners.
The event was held as the conclusion of an evaluation process that began in January of this year. There were 104 restaurants registered in the competition. A Jury composed of 41 people from the Los Cabos area was the deciding factor in selecting the nominees, and ultimately, the winners in ten categories. This process was overseen and endorsed by Crowe Horwath. More than 9000 people voted through on-line voting to select the people’s choice awards in five additional categories.
Sabor a Cabo A.C. was recognized with an award in Culinary Achievement for its contribution to the promotion of local cuisine and entertainment for the last 12 years.
In the words of Renato Mendonca, General Manager of the host hotel, “the big winner is Los Cabos, and thanks to the Culinary Awards we will be able to show the world the high quality and eclectic variety of our gastronomic offer”. Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Tourism Board of Los Cabos, recognized the effort and service of all the people who work in the hospitality industry by offering the best cuisine to all visitors and residents in this vacation destination.
